Strawberry Festival Sponsored by Long Island University at Riverhead
One of the most rewarding experiences you will have is getting to know the five finalists for the 2011 Strawberry Festival Queen. The evening begins with a fabulous cocktail hour from 6:00 to 7:00 with entertainment provided by the award-winning Mattituck High School Jazz Band. Dinner follows the presentation of the colors by Southold NJROTC and the introduction of the Strawberry Festival Queen candidates. During dinner, the finalists are asked to visit the attendees to introduce themselves and to answer questions. Prior to the end of the evening, the finalists, before the entire gathering is each asked a random question and one standard question by the evening’s host, further identifying a candidate’s qualifications. At the end of the evening only certain attendees will complete their choice for queen on a secret ballot to be placed into a confidential ballot box. The ballot box is delivered to an independent accounting firm to be counted and certified. The 2011 Strawberry Festival Queen will be announced on Saturday June 18 2011 at 3PM at the Strawberry Festival.
